West Highland Way

Repository for useful information on the West Highland Way, which we are hiking s a family excursion in July 2016.  This is intended for our own access and reference, but please enjoy if it is useful!

The WHW a route of close to 100 miles (154km) running through the south-western Scottish Highlands from Milngavie (a town on the outskirts of Glasgow) to Fort William.  While undulating, the normal route generally remains low in the valleys an does not have particularly large climbs, with the highest point at only 548m on the summit of the ‘Devil’s Staircase‘.
