Franelise & Ross’s Wedding
Hey there!
Yip, the wedding happened. Happiness! We’ve opened up this page so that we can post stuff in the aftermath
The official wedding photos are out, but I haven’t been able to construct an album for the blog yet. Much as I hate doing it, the facebook links are here:
Album 2 – Ceremony on the beach
Album 3 – Family and Entourage Photos
Album 5 – Reception at Arabella
You can also see the ‘teaser’ on Charl Smith’s web-page by clicking here or the image below.

OLD INFO BELOW
General information:
The wedding ceremony will be on the main beach at Betty’s Bay at 17h00, followed by a reception, dinner and dancing at the Arabella Western Cape Hotel and Spa between Kleinmond and Botrivier/Hermanus at 20h00. Depending on your route, either Betty’s Bay or the Arabella can be reached in 90 minutes driving from Cape Town. The drive between the two takes approximately 20 minutes. In the case of severe wind or adverse weather, we will use the Harold Porter National Botanical Gardens in Betty’s Bay as a backup venue, but at the moment the forecast is looking good for the beach. Please make sure when you RSVP that we have at least one cellphone number for you, so that we can let you know if the ceremony will be at the Gardens.
We have chosen Betty’s Bay for the wedding because it is special to us, and is an area of tremendous natural beauty. However, to make it simple and easy to attend, we have selected the Arabella as the venue for the reception as it has every possible amenity for our guests. The evening ceremony allows you to check in at the hotel before the coming unencumbered to the beach, and then return to the hotel for the reception later. We encourage you to consider this, as it means you will not need to worry about driving anywhere after the reception.

If you haven’t yet, you’re not coming :p
Accommodation:
The Arabella givenus a special rate for guests at the wedding, if you wish to book accommodation at the hotel. This is valid right up until the day, so if ou have changed plans or need to book accommodation in a hurry, it is still available. You can find out more about the Arabella by clicking here.
If the Arabella does not suit your fancy, we are glad to let you know that there is plenty of lovely accommodation throughout this beautiful region. Betty’s Bay and Kleinmond are the closest and most convenient, but everywhere from Pringle Bay in the west to Stanford in the east are within 30 minutes drive of the reception. There are options to suit every taste, from camping through bed & breakfast to boutique hotels. We recommend making a weekend of it, and seeing local attractions like Clarence Drive (possibly the most beautiful coastal road in the country), the Botanical Gardens, the Stoney Point penguin colony, local art galleries and adventure activities from rock climbing to horse riding. Please keep some energy for dancing, though!
If looking for accommodation in the Betty’s & Kleinmond area, the best resource is the Hangklip-Kleinmond Tourism Bureau, which covers the area from Pringle Bay to Kleinmond. Their site is very helpful – click on the type you are interested in, and it pops up sorted by area and includes rates. They will also assist you with bookings at no cost. If you prefer to look towards Hermanus, we have two lists which which you can download for either hotels, guest houses and bed & breakfast or self-catering options, by clicking on the relevant links. Also useful is the www.Hermanus.co.za tourism site, if you wish to browse pictures.
